"Obey the Signs or Pay the Fines"

Voorhees Township Police Officers will be cracking down on speeding motorists this summer, as part of the "Obey the Signs or Pay the Fines" initiative.

Beginning July 1 and running through July 31, approximately 75 municipalities will participate in the statewide effort to help motorists remain safe on the New Jersey roads during the busy summer travel season. Voorhees Township Police and other Police agencies throughout the state will conduct additional patrols looking for motorists traveling in excess of the posted speed limit on local streets and county/state highways.

-----------------

Before you leave for vacation...

Follow the recommendations of Sergeant Brian Randazzo of the Voorhees Police Department

1. Give your home the lived in look

2. Stop the mail and newspapers or have a neighbor pick them up

3. Tell only trusted neighbors and relatives that your going away.  Tell the kids not to tell their friends.

4. Call the Voorhees Police at 428-5400 and sign up for home check.  The police will check your home at least once a day.

2010 Census Kickoff began April 6, 2009. Address canvassing will be conducted over the next twelve months.

Census workers started their canvassing operation April 6, 2009 in local offices across the United States, including here in Voorhees Township. Census workers will knock on residents' doors to verify addresses and inquire about additional living quarters on the premises. This operation should improve both the accuracy and coverage of the final count.

Census workers can be identified by the Census Bureau badge they carry. During the address canvassing operation, census workers may ask you to verify a housing structure's address and the existence of any additional living quarters on the property.

It is important to know that census workers will never ask for bank or social security information. Do not give any personal information to anyone who says they are from the Census Bureau. Only address and housing information is being collected. All census information collected, including addresses, are confidential and protected by law.

Thank you.
